Thank you for your prayers and encouragement as we begin the search for our next Lead Pastor.
Following the commissioning of the Pastoral Search Team (PST) and update to the congregation on Sunday, July 12th, we wanted to provide a recap which outlines an overview of the process and what you can expect in the weeks ahead:

Thank you for your prayers and encouragement as we begin the search for our next Lead Pastor.
Following the commissioning of the Pastoral Search Team (PST) and update to the congregation on Sunday, July 12th, we wanted to provide a recap which outlines an overview of the process and what you can expect in the weeks ahead:
Here's where we are:
- The Pastoral Search Team has officially begun its work. We met together for the first time on Thursday, July 9th, and began laying the foundation for the search process.
- This will be a prayerful and intentional process. We recognize that we already have a gifted and qualified pastoral leader serving among us. At the same time, we believe it is important to follow an open and thoughtful process that allows us to seek God's wisdom together and discern His leading for the future of Long Hill Chapel.
- Our first step is listening. The PST will spend time identifying the needs of our church and the qualities we believe are important in our next Lead Pastor. We'll gather input from the Elder Board, church staff, and the congregation as part of that process.
- From there, we'll evaluate potential candidates. As the process unfolds, the Elder Board will prayerfully determine the candidate they believe God is leading them to recommend. That recommendation will then come before the congregation for a confirming vote and be submitted to the Metro District Superintendent for appointment.
- We'll keep you informed. We'll provide updates throughout the search so you know where we are in the process. While the team's conversations and candidate discussions will remain confidential to protect everyone involved, we are committed to being as transparent as possible about the process itself.
